#THE LINE THAT SEPARATES US
“LINE OF CONTROL”
Two nations, same people, same culture, same language, same feelings. Yet separated. About 60 years ago the diversity of my country was broken into two parts. Families were separated, children killed, blood stained the soil. At the midnight hour of 15th August 1947, my country rose to freedom after a 200 years of long battle. But what about the fighters who brought this day? They were separated into two different nations. They were forced to believe that they were different. But are we really different? But how? We breathed the same air, laughed the same smile, ate the same food, drank from the same river, ploughed the same soil, shared the same culture. Then how can we be so different? Why are we separated? The people of the two nations, who once fought and even gave up their life for independence now fight across the border. Thousands of soldiers from both the sides die in these wars. Did we ever want this to happen? Did we ever wish to get separated? Let’s put our hands over our hearts and think for a while….Do we really hate each other? Are we really different? Do we really want wars?

Even though you travel across the border, You won’t find any difference in culture, people, landscape, belief and the country’s past., for they were all same and they will be forever. It’s just our minds that make us think we are different and lead us to hate each other. We are made to believe what we believe but do we really want to believe that?
